FAQ'S ABOUT HYDROSEEDING
You’ve Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers
HOW MUCH DOES HYDROSEED COST?
Our minimum charge for hydroseeding is $1,000.00* which will cover you up to 5,000 sq. ft for one area. Then $.15 per additional sq. ft. Pricing is based off locations within a 5 mile radius of Marlborough, MA. If you are more then a 5 mile radius from Marlborough please call for pricing. *Note: Pricing is subject to change.
WHEN SHOULD HYDROSEED BE APPLIED?
Hydroseeding works best during the Spring and the Fall months. We do not recommended hydroseeding during the peak of summer (July-August) due to the extreme temperatures. Note: We can hydroseed in the summer if you need it but you may not have optimal results.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR HYDROSEEDING?
Hydroseeding works best when applied to loosely raked / power raked loam. You want to make sure all vegetation and rocks are removed. A minimum of 3" of fresh loam is recommended so the roots of seedlings can take into the ground.
CAN I HYDROSEED OVER MY EXISTING LAWN?
Hydroseeding is not intended for an overseeding process. Hydroseeding works best on newly applied and loosely raked loam.
HOW LONG AFTER THE HYDROSEED IS APPLIED SHOULD I START TO SEE GROWTH?
The answer can vary depending on the air and soil temperatures. Typically during peak hydroseeding seasons you can start to see growth in 7 -14 days. It may take longer if we experience cooler temperatures and/or if proper watering practices are not in place.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WATER?
Water is essential to the growing process of a newly hydroseeded lawn. Newly hydroseeded lawns should be watered as much as 2 - 3 times a day depending on the temperatures. Special care should be taken to ensure that the lawn is not saturated during watering and that puddles do not form on the lawn. Having an irrigation system is often the best method of watering your lawn. The goal is to have a consistently moist area for the best germination results.
CAN I WALK ON THE NEWLY APPLIED HYDROSEED?
If possible, avoid walking on the newly applied hydroseed. Too much traffic on the hydroseed can damage the seed and seedlings. Waiting until it is time for your first mowing is best.
IS THERE A GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY ON THE HYDROSEEDING?
We apply the hydroseeding mixture following the guidelines of the manufactures of the products we use. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for weeds, eradication of weeds, acts of Mother Nature, vandalism, diseases, damage by animals, or anything else beyond our control including but not limited to: drought, torrential rains or any other weather related conditions. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide the proper care for their new lawn as required.
Remember, hydroseeding is just the beginning process of establishing your new lawn. A proper fertilization program is recommended as soon as 30 days after your initial seeding.
